Heathrow Airport, their biggest airport site yet!

We are so pleased to have been involved in the design and installation of Jones the Grocer’s biggest airport site to date, Heathrow Terminal 2. This fantastic project is a great example of what we do best at Catering Projects. We thrive when being tasked with creating high quality, large scale kitchens and bars for fast paced environments.

Airports present a unique set of challenges and Heathrow is no exception. The brief called for a kitchen that could deliver a high-quality menu, with efficiency and a customer facing kiosk. The goal is to serve customers who are looking for a quick grab & go option. In collaboration with The Restaurant Group, Jones the Grocer and the wider project team we succeeded in developing a fitting solution.

In order to ensure there was complete alignment with all parties across the design and build process, we utilised software such as Revit to produce detailed 3D visuals and walkthroughs. This was greatly beneficial in bringing the space to life in the early planning phases and helped guide the entire design stage.

Once on site our project management team played a vital role in ensuring the concept became a reality. Working airside at Britain’s biggest and busiest airport presents a number of challenges. Any and all obstacles were overcome through careful planning and coordination.

The finished result? A standout kiosk which accompanies a fully functional kitchen. Both areas support Jones the Grocers identity alongside the constant busy passenger flow.
